Recognizing Buffalo’s status as a city of poets
The title of the poem in James Schuyler’s “Other Flowers: Uncollected Poems” is simply “East Aurora.” In his introduction to the 2007 “Selected Poems” of Schuyler, his fellow “New York Poet” John Ashbery describes it as “a town made famous by pop philosopher Elbert Hubbard and his Roycroft school of arts and crafts.”
