How to trim aquatic plants in aquarium?
I’m going to have an aquarium that’s planted. And I’m not sure how exactly are you suppose to trim the aquatic plants? It will be a 50 or 55 Gallon freshwater. Low-Medium Lighting. Medium water movement.
I’ll probably be having ( not all, these are my narrowed down choises)
- Java Fern
- Java Moss
- Anubias
- Amazon Sword
- Crystal Wort
- Money Wort
- Cardamine
- Water Sprite
- Anacharis
- Pearl Weed
- Penny Word
- Wisteria
- Ambulia
- Tiger Lotus
- Lotus
- Orchid Lily
Fish will be
- 10 harlequin rasbora
- 8 cardinal tetra
- 1 britlenose pleco ( 6″ max)
- 3 oto catfishes
- 1 male betta
So how exactly do you trim? Do you just cut the tall leaves in half or do I cut the whole leaf or do you pull off the side leaves? I don’t know.

like a hedge, just trim tops as it makes them more compact.
