Gifts for bridesmaids?
Is it ok to give bridesmaids gift cards as a gift for being in the bridal party? If I do this, I was originally thinking of a dinner and movie combo (Applebee’s at $10 or $25 or Steak n Shake at $10 or $25 and Regal Entertainment Group at $10, $25, or $50). But then I was thinking about Bath and Body Works (at $10, $25, $50).
Would these be acceptable and how much should I give each bridesmaid? (Btw, I’m hoping to have enough points by the wedding at Mypoints.com to get the gift cards from there. Is that wrong of me to try to do that? I will actually pay for any that I don’t have enough points for.)
Should I get the same thing for each bridesmaid or should I change it up some (like different restaurants with the dinner and movie idea or even switching betweeen the two ideas)?
Gift cards are a great idea. When I was a bridesmaid 20 years ago, I enjoyed picking out my gift at Macy’s. To make things easier on yourself, you can give out one card for an amount not less than $50.
With two smaller amount gift cards, they will likely have to pay some of their own money to use it. For example, someone’s likely not going to go out to diner by themselves, and will be likely to go over on the amount. BTW, $10 gift cards look chintzy, even in combo with other cards.
