Tier Fingertip
Do you remove a cathedral veil before or after the first dance?
I bought a 2 tier cathedral veil where the long bottom layer is removable and you are left with an elbow/fingertip (a bit inbetween) layer. I am planning on leaving the shorter layer on all night, or at least until it starts to bug me. But with the cathedral layer, would I leave that on for the first dace? Can you even dance in one? Do I leave my gown un-bustled until I remove it?
I am not much of a dancer for after the first dance and dinner I will likely just spend most of the night walking around talking with people.
I think it is beautiful to have draped over your arm while you dance. This keeps it off the floor but still shows it off. It will only work if your dance isn’t too fancy though. I know for mine I wanted to keep the veil on all night, but our dance (viennese waltz) had lifts – and that was very hard to do with the veil so I had to take it off. Practice your dance with and without the full-length veil and see how you go. If you can get away with wearing it over your arm then I would vote to do that cause it looks so romantic!
